Miedź Legnica will compete in the first league next season. Despite relegation from the Ekstraklasa, several players showed their good side. One of them was Maxime Dominguez, who played for Copper since the summer of 2021 when he left Neuchatel Xamax without a transfer fee. From the beginning of May, there was information in the media that, despite the decline, Dominguez would remain in the Polish league and join Raków Częstochowa, the newly minted Polish champion. The rumors were confirmed in early June.

Raków Częstochowa informed in an official announcement about bringing Maxime Dominguez from Miedzi Legnica. The Swiss signed a two-year contract with an option to extend for an additional season. – It’s amazing to me. I came to Poland two years ago. Now that’s a big step forward for me. I’m happy to be here. I want to be the best on and off the pitch. I’m excited to meet my new team-mates,” the midfielder said, quoted by the club’s official website.
– Maxime has had two successful seasons in Miedź Legnica, where he was a very outstanding player. He managed to get to know our country and Ekstraklasa, thanks to which his acclimatization in the team should go smoothly. We believe that in Raków he will strengthen the rivalry in the midfield and spread his wings even more, presenting his full potential and skills – added Robert Graf, sports director of Raków.
It is worth adding that there were some doubts about the transfer earlier, because Dominguez did not play in the last two matches of Miedź Legnica due to a knee injury, and then underwent meniscus surgery. He will now be rehabilitated for several weeks. Raków did not refer to his health situation, so it is not known whether he will fully undergo the preparatory period before the new games.
Maxime Dominguez will not be the only transfer of Raków Częstochowa in the summer window. Soon, another Miedź Legnica footballer will join the club, more specifically Dawid Drachal, who is to be bound by a five-year contract with his new employer. Earlier, Lukasz Zwoliński joined Raków, and the club bought Stratos Svarnas from AEK Athens for 800,000. euro.
