The Remparts de Québec began their trip to Baie-Comeau by losing their flag 6 to 1 against the Drakkar on Friday evening.
In this first of two games in as many evenings at the Henry-Leonard Center, the crowd favorites opened the machine in the third period. Julien Paillé broke a 1-1 tie in the opening moments of the final third. It was the 11th of the season for the Sherbrooke native.
A few moments later, Raoul Boilard took advantage of the presence of Nathan Plamondon-Michaud in the cell to give Drakkar a two-goal priority. On this success, Félix Gagnon collected the second of his three assists. He was also an accomplice in the goals of Julien Lanthier and Isaac Dufort, in the first and third period respectively.
Boilard and Louis Charles Plourde added insult to injury in the final moments of the clash.
The only success of the Remparts was the work of Zachary Marquis-Laflamme. He shook things up in the second period.
In front of the cages, Philippe Bourdages stopped 24 pucks in the victory, while Louis-Antoine Denault made 30 saves in the defeat.
The Red Devils and the Drakkar will meet again late Saturday afternoon.
