A few weeks ago, comedian Blanche Gardin revealed the significant fee that had been offered to him to participate in the game broadcast on Amazon Prime Video, “LOL: who laughs, comes out!”. “I would be embarrassed (not to say that it would really hurt my ass) to be paid 200,000 euros for a day’s work even if I lose at your game, when the charity of my choice wins , she, 50,000 euros, that is to say four times less. And again, only if I win,” she wrote in an open letter.
“Yes, it bothers me to receive, for 8 hours of work, this maddening sum from a company which does not pay its taxes in France and even benefits from 1 billion euros in tax credit, so that it makes 50 billion euros in turnover”, she added, to justify her refusal.
These remarks by Blanche Gardin had deeply annoyed the other participants in the game who had little taste of her moral lesson. “What we do with our money is up to us. We cannot race for purity: cinema is also an industry, with large groups … If we are looking for radicality, it is complex”, had reacted in particular the actress Virginie Efira.
“Respect my opinion”
It is now Ramzy Bedia – who also received 200,000 euros in fees for this game – who reacted to the question, in an interview with “Society”: “It’s fabulous, it’s great. Blanche Gardin, if she doesn’t want to do it, that’s up to her. Me, personally, when my tiler or bus driver friends found out that there was this salary for a day’s work, they said to me: ‘Do you know how much we earn? You know how you get pissed off to earn 2200 euros a month? You have this chance, so take it!’”, explains the comedian.
And to conclude: “My mother, she kills me if I don’t! We don’t all have the same story, we don’t all come from the same place. The only common point is this big check. I understand that everyone approaches it differently. Personally, I take it. That we respect the opinion of Blanche Gardin and that we respect mine.
