Randall Baron is suing Elon Musk for $13 billion

Tesla does not report the sales of its solar division individually, but combines them with the sale of electricity storage. With both, Tesla generated sales of $2.7 billion last year, more than the 2016 purchase price.

Although the majority of shareholders voted to acquire SolarCity, Baron’s clients are suing. They argue that Musk failed to properly educate the board and its shareholders and, despite complying, exerted massive influence over the decision. In addition, too little was said about the problems with the solar panel production in the factory in Buffalo and possible penalties to the state of New York.
