Manchester United’s loss to Crystal Palace at the end of the season showed the huge task awaiting new coach Erik ten Hag, but interim coach Ralph Rangnick said he was optimistic regarding the club’s future.
United qualified for the European League next season, despite losing 1-0 on Sunday, due to the defeat of its pursuers, West Ham United, 3-1 once morest Brighton & Hove Albion, to remain in seventh place.
“I think Brighton did us a favor to turn the game around,” Rangnick told reporters. “They were 1-0 down in the first half and scored three goals in the second half. We would love to take care of ourselves.
