Former champion coach Claudio Ranieri is the new coach of the Italian second division soccer team Cagliari Calcio. The 71-year-old signed at Table-14. Serie B signed a contract until 2025. Ranieri took over the club from Sardinia in 1988 and led it directly from Serie C1 to Serie A. “Welcome back mister,” the club wrote on its website.

Ranieri had coached English first division club Watford until January but was sacked after just 14 games in just over three months. He celebrated his greatest success in 2016 when he led Leicester City to a sensational Premier League championship.
