According to data from the National Airports Office (ONDA), Tetouan Airport welcomed, during the period from January 1 to the end of June, a total of 66,072 passengers, i.e. four and a half times the volume of passengers recorded during the same period in 2019 (14,879 passengers)
As a result, Saniat R’mel airport in Tetouan ranked first among the Kingdom’s airports in terms of the recovery rate during the first half of the current year, with a rate of 444% compared to the same period of 2019.
Guelmim Airport comes in second position (126%), followed by Oujda-Angad Airport (104%), when this rate stands at 64% nationally.
As for airport movements, the number of flights at the Saniat R’mel airport platform reached 138 flights between January and June 2022, compared to 246 flights during the same period of 2019.
Saniat R’mel Airport in Tetouan recorded, in June alone, a volume of commercial traffic of 17,489 passengers through 24 flights, compared to 5,338 passengers through 32 flights during the same period of 2019.
It should be noted that all Moroccan airports welcomed, during the first half of 2022, a total of 7,439,275 passengers through 70,680 airport movements, i.e. a recovery rate of 64% of passengers and 72% of traffic aircraft, compared to the same period in 2019, despite the late resumption of flights (February 7, 2022).
