The Asian Football Confederation has revealed the classification of the teams participating in the 2023 Asian Cup, which will be held in Qatar next year.
Doha will host the 2023 Asian Nations Cup from January 12, 2024 to February 10 of the same year, with the participation of 24 teams.
The tournament is scheduled to be held in the group system with 6 groups, provided that there are 4 teams in each group, and the draw for the group stage of the tournament will be held on May 11.
The AFC officially announced the classification of the teams participating in the tournament, by dividing them into 4 classifications, with 6 teams in each classification.
The Qatar national team came at the top of the first classification as the country organizing the tournament, along with the teams of Saudi Arabia, Japan, South Korea, Australia and Iran.
While the teams of Iraq, the UAE, Oman, Jordan, China and Uzbekistan came in the second classification, while the third classification witnessed an Arab presence consisting of the teams of Bahrain, Syria, Palestine and Lebanon, in addition to Kyrgyzstan and Vietnam.
As for the fourth classification, it gathered the teams of India, Tajikistan, Thailand, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Indonesia.
