Rapper MHD appealed his sentence to 12 years of criminal imprisonment, Franceinfo learned from a judicial source on Wednesday October 4, confirming information from Le Figaro. The rapper, whose real name is Mohamed Sylla, was convicted on September 24, at first instance, by the Paris Assize Court for the murder of a young man in 2018, as part of a settling of scores between rival bands.
A co-defendant still on the run
Four other co-defendants are also appealing their conviction. In total, five other co-defendants were sentenced at first instance to sentences ranging from 10 to 18 years of criminal imprisonment. The fifth co-accused convicted in the first instance was not present at the trial, he is still on the run. Three other men were also acquitted following the trial.
