The list includes a video of Janaki Omkumar and Naveen K Razak, students of Thrissur Medical College, stepping on Rasputin’s song. Other videos include the first Kovid vaccine given by the Union Health Minister and the performance of Olympic gold medalist Neeraj Chopra.
The video of Naveen and Janaki stepping out during work breaks was released in April 2021. The video, which is only a few seconds long, was widely discussed on social media. The two were seen in uniform on the empty verandah. In a short span of time, the remarkable video has garnered millions of viewers.
As the dance video went viral, Janaki and Naveen received praise as well as criticism. Some were trying to insult him by mixing the color of religion with the names of the two. Later, various versions of the Rasputin dance were released in solidarity with Naveen and Janaki.
Recently, a UN delegation praised Janaki and Naveen for their dance performances. UN Cultural Rights Reporter Karima Bennon praised. Karima also reacted in strong language to those who criticized the students for stepping together.
