Galveston (Houston) ∙ As winter approaches, Galveston Island State Park officials are warning beachgoers regarding the possibility of rattlesnakes hiding in sand dunes.

According to the National Wildlife Federation, rattlesnakes can be found in almost every part of the continental United States. However, they are most common in the Southwest. Rattlesnakes can also be found in Mexico, Central and South America and inhabit a variety of habitats such as swamps, deserts, grasslands, and forests.

‘Don’t panic, just let it go. Stay at least 5 feet away from the snake and alert staff’. The Facebook post says.
