After the Razr 40 Ultra, it’s time to check out the Razr 40, Motorola’s most affordable foldable. Is it worth saving or is it better to invest right away in the most complete?
The two are the same size, with the difference that the Razr 40 comes with a smaller external screen, which limits its functions. It is still possible to have control over notifications, shortcuts, settings and calls. It is even possible to customize the clock and which blocks will be displayed on this small screen.
The main panel has the same 6.9 inches as the more expensive model, but here we have a refresh rate of 144 Hz, against 165 Hz on the other. It’s a nice screen with strong brightness, while the sound part is powerful and delivers good quality, making the Razr 40 a good phone for movie and game consumption.
It comes with Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 combined with 8 GB of RAM. This combination guarantees good performance, despite not standing out for its price range. It ran all the games we tested well and its battery lasts long enough for a full day of moderate use. The recharge time is just under 1 hour.
Its camera is not impressive for the price charged by the device, but we have good photos with a high level of detail, little noise and colors close to reality. The ultra-wide is above the intermediaries, but tends to overdo it in post-processing. The camcorder records in 4K at a maximum of 30 fps with all three cameras. While the main one brings more advanced stabilization to deal with shakes, the others also have efficient digital stabilization.
