World Cup concerns about Werner!

That’s very bitter!

Leipzig star Timo Werner (26) has to be replaced injured after 19 minutes during the Champions League game against Donetsk.

Is the World Cup in danger now?!

In the 13th minute, Donetsk captain Stepanenko grabbed Werner’s legs from behind and hit his left ankle. The national player initially continues briefly, but then sits back down on the grass and gives the substitutes a sign: It can’t go on!

In the 19th minute, Werner was substituted and left the pitch shaking his head. Forsberg is coming.

Before that, the 55-time national player (24 goals) played a key role in the 1-0 goal: Nkunku dusted off a Werner shot to take the lead (10th).

As the club announced shortly after the break, Werner was “only” replaced with ankle pain after the initial diagnosis. Of course, further tests will follow in Leipzig.

After half-time, Werner watches his team’s game from the bench, freshly showered.

World Cup concerns about Werner!

The World Cup in Qatar begins for Germany (against Japan) on November 23rd. Hopefully it’s nothing worse and the RB attacker can play…

Werner has scored nine goals and provided four assists in 15 competitive games this season. After two mixed seasons at Chelsea, the native of Stuttgart found his old strength back after his return to Leipzig in the summer. All the more bitter if he should now miss the tournament because of this sliding tackle.
