Elected for the first time in 2016, a second time in 2019, Gianni INFANTINO has just been re-elected this Thursday, March 16, 2023 for a third term as President of FIFA.

The only candidate in the running, he was reappointed by acclamation on the occasion of the 73^th annual FIFA congress held in Kigali, Rwanda.
In his speech, Gianni INFANTINO said that before his arrival at the head of FIFA, the member associations received 250,000 dollars per year. Today, he has succeeded in multiplying the amount by 7, which added to other contributions from the umbrella body allows the National Federations to collect from now on 2 Million dollars per year.

The advantages of the re-election of Gianni INFANTINO

Gianni INFANTINO has put all the assets on his side to ensure his re-election : a solid financial balance sheet with an 18% increase in income, a welcome governance made up of transfer reform, the introduction of maternity leave for professional players… a change in the format of the World Cup whose participants go from 32 to 48 teams from 2026. This new reform will promote, for FIFA to make, the explosion of its revenue from ticketing and media rights. Result, Gianni INFANTINO found himself in Kigali without a challenger, alone in the running.
