Real estate: the main aid for energy renovation will increase

In a context of sharply rising energy prices, good news is emerging for households wishing to improve the energy performance of their homes. After several months of discussion with energy bonus distributors, the Minister for Energy Transition, Agnès Pannier-Runacher, has announced that the level of obligation for energy savings certificates (EEC) will be increased by 25%.

It is increased to 3,100 cumulative terawatt hours (TWhc) to be achieved between 2022 and 2025, once morest 2,500 TWhc initially planned for the period. “This corresponds to an increase of more than one and a half billion euros per year in the service of energy efficiency. Two-thirds of this increase will benefit households in fuel poverty,” the minister said at the end of July.
