Real Madrid hardly reach the quarter-finals

Madrid (AFP) – Real Madrid reached the quarter-finals of the King’s Cup in football with a difficult victory over its host Elche 2-1 after an extension (original time zero-zero) Thursday in the final price round.

Real Madrid found it difficult to find a hole in the host’s defense throughout the original time, and found itself behind with a goal in the first extra period scored by Goncalo Verdo from a free kick in two (103) caused by the Brazilian Marcelo and he was sent off (102).

Real Madrid rose up after the goal and succeeded in turning the table with two goals for the substitutes Isco and the Belgian Eden Hazard in the 108th and 115th minutes, respectively.

Real Madrid played the match in the absence of its most prominent stars, led by French international top scorer Karim Benzema, giant Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and Portuguese defender Eder Militao, while Croatian midfielder Luka Modric and Brazilian Casemiro sat on the bench before pushing them in the 72nd minute to place Uruguayan Federico Valverde and French Eduardo Camavinga.

Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti paid Isco and Hazard the place of Serbian Luka Jovic (79) and Brazilian Rodrigo (91).

Real Madrid joined Real Sociedad, Real Mallorca, Rayo Vallecano, Cadiz, Real Betis and Valencia.

The final round will conclude later with Athletic Bilbao, last season’s runner-up, with defending champion Barcelona.
