Real Madrid vs. FC Barcelona: No broadcast on TV and live stream

The next Clásico is imminent. After Real Madrid and the FC Barcelona were already facing each other in the first half of LaLiga at the end of October, they will now meet again. To be more precise: The prestige duel takes place as part of the semi-finals of the Supercopa de España will take place on Wednesday, January 12th from 8 p.m.

This is the Central European kick-off time, because although it is a Spanish competition, it will not be held on the Iberian Peninsula. As in 2020, the reigning champions, the reigning cup winners, the reigning runner-up and the reigning runner-up cup winners will fight for the title in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia.

However: Although the most famous duel in world football and this encounter in the Supercopa semifinals has long been clear, no TV station or streaming service in Germany or Austria has secured the rights to broadcast the mini-tournament – not even DAZN, whose live program includes both the Primera División and the Copa del Rey.

Otherwise there is also no official opportunity in German-speaking countries to watch the battle of strength between Real and Barça on TV or livestream. Here, too, it is not entirely clear why this is so (presumably due to the host country). However, this is not new; it has already been the case in the past two years, among other things.

Accordingly, the second semi-final between Atlético Madrid and the Athletic Club from Bilbao and the final on Sunday will not be officially seen anywhere. In Spain, Movistar’s “#Vamos” program is responsible for the broadcast on the Italian TV broadcaster NEW you can possibly stream it (but apparently you need access there).
