During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the town of Sake was besieged by rebels. Therefore, the situation in the neighboring city of Goma could also deteriorate rapidly, according to the Dutch ministry. “Are you in Goma? Leave the city if it is safe to do so.”
Belgium’s travel advice for Congo had already been updated on Monday. Any travel to Goma and the surrounding region is “strongly discouraged”.
