Recall Alert: Similac Probiotic Tri-Blend Baby Food – Check Your Lot Number Now!

Abbott Laboratories is recalling more than 226,000 packets of Similac brand Probiotic Tri-Blend baby food because of “serious adverse reactions to product in preterm infants.”

The company initiated the recall on Oct. 31 and it is ongoing. It was just posted by the Food and Drug Administration on its “access data” website. The recall notice does not specify what kind of reactions have been reported and does not say how many babies are involved.

The recalled Similac product was distributed in Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Iowa, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisiana, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Mississippi, Montana , North Carolina, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Jersey, New Mexico, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Washington, Wisconsin and West Virginia.

The implicated product is in 0.017oz (0.50g) foil packets with 50 foil packets per carton, three cartons per case.

Parents and caregivers can look for the following information to determine whether they have the recalled product on hand: Lot No. 45002IP Product No. 67397 Best By 09/01/24.

The company did not provide a photo of the product with its recall notice.
