Recall of Listeria Contaminated Trout Products: Migros, Denner, Coop

2023-09-15 12:20:28

Migros, Denner and Coop are recalling various trout products due to the presence of listeria. Retailers, who ask their customers not to consume these products, report a potential health risk.

At Coop, the products concerned are for example ASC and Prix Garantie smoked trout fillets, fish platters, as well as salads containing trout. At Migros, M-Classic trout fillets, natural and pepper, are affected. Smoked trout fillets are also recalled at Denner.

The products have already been removed from sale. Customers can return the items to the store and get a refund of the sale price, retailers say.

According to the Federal Office for Food Safety and Veterinary Affairs (FSVO), an infection with listeria bacteria is often mild or even asymptomatic in people with an intact immune system. In immunocompromised people, however, serious symptoms can develop with, in certain cases, a fatal outcome.
