NORMAL, Ill.- Illinois State (3-7-4, 1-4-3 in MVC) fell 2-0 on the road at Indiana State on Sunday (2-6-8, 1-4-3 in MVC). This marks the second-straight game the Redbirds were shut out,  as well as marking the first conference victory for the Sycamores.

The Redbirds struggled against the defense put forth by the Sycamores, as they only were able to put one shot on goal. Indiana State jumped out to an early lead, scoring in both the 28th minute, and the 53rd minute, and kept the press on the entire game. The Sycamores were able to secure the eventual victory on the two unanswered goals.

The defeat marks the fourth in-conference loss for the ‘Birds, and gives both teams the same record in the standings, with the Sycamores earning the head-to-head victory.

Illinois State will play its final two conference games in the coming week. The ‘Birds will take on UIC at home on Thursday and finish out the season at UNI on Sunday
