2023-10-27 20:21:00

EV Zug has to admit defeat to HC Ambri-Piotta 2:3 in the National League after 6 wins in a row. HC Lugano beats ZSC Lions 3:1 and celebrates their 6th win in a row. Defeat the Lakers Table neighbors Davos after extra time and return to winning ways.

Zug – Ambri 2:3

The EV train can still be beaten. After 6 wins in a row, the Central Swiss team once again had to leave the ice as losers in the home game against HC Ambri-Piotta. From the EVZ’s perspective, the disaster began early on. Alex Formenton (6th) and André Heim (11th) gave the guests from Leventina a 2-0 lead in the starting third. Dario Simion was then able to reduce the score to 1:2 and later to 2:3 after another Ambri goal by Tommaso De Luca. But there was nothing more possible for the hosts in the final phase. Zug remains in third place in the table, Ambri is still tenth.

ZSC Lions – Lugano 1:3

HC Lugano was able to extend its winning streak. The Ticino team defeated the ZSC Lions 3-1 away and achieved their 6th success de suite. After Sven Andrighetto conceded a goal in the 10th minute, the guests’ reaction was a long time coming. It wasn’t until the 34th minute that Calvin Thürkauf equalized the game, and Julian Walker perfected the turnaround a little later. Daniel Carr was able to increase for Luganesi in the 47th minute. The people of Zurich tried everything again. After only 10 shots on goal in the first 40 minutes, they covered HCL keeper Niklas Schlegel with 18 attempts in the final period. But nothing of note resulted from this.

Lakers – Davos 3:2 n.V.

Thanks to Tyler Moy, the Lakers found their way back to winning after 2 defeats in a row. The Nati striker made the decision in the 4th minute of extra time after he netted the lead in the starting third shortly before the siren with one man more on the ice. After Enzo Corvi’s equalizer (24th), the St. Gallen team took the lead again through Nico Dünr in the 37th minute, but had to accept the equalizer again in the 3rd period.

Lausanne – Kloten 3-0

Kloten still can’t find his way out of the negative spiral. The airport city team suffered their fourth defeat in a row after 60 minutes away in Lausanne. The main problem became clear again: Kloten doesn’t score enough goals. Despite 24 shots on goal, the guests were unable to overcome Lausanne’s newcomer in goal Kevin Pasche once. The 20-year-old was able to celebrate his first shutout in his first National League game. A possible victory for Lausanne was indicated early on: after just over 2 minutes, the home team took the lead through talented striker Théo Rochette.

Biel – Ajoie 4:3 nP

Toni Rajala led Biel to its first win after three defeats – and how. The Finnish top scorer converted the 12th penalty with a smart slapshot under the crossbar for a 4-3 win and let his own followers celebrate. After 60 minutes the score was 3-3 between Seeländer and Ajoie. The guests were able to take the lead with one goal in each of the 1st and 2nd thirds, and Biel responded. In the final third it looked like 3 points for the home team until shortly before the end, before Frédérik Gauthier was able to equalize (59th).

Geneva – Freiburg 3:4 nP

Fribourg-Gottéron benefited from the defeats of the ZSC Lions and EV Zug and extended its lead in the table to 6 points. In their guest appearance at champions Geneva-Servette, the Saanestadt team had to fear victory despite a 3-0 lead. Marcus Sörensen, Lucas Wallmark and Samuel Walser put Freiburg comfortably in front. Tim Berni and Sakari Manninen with a brace were able to equalize for Geneva. In the penalty shootout, Christoph Bertschy and Wallmark scored for Freiburg, while only Daniel Winnik was successful for Geneva.
