Recent Arrests at Liège-Guillemins Station: Thieves Caught Stealing Backpacks in Repeat Offenses

2023-08-27 18:51:39

Four individuals were arrested this Sunday at Liège-Guillemins station. They had just stolen a backpack from a traveler, having already done the same the day before.

Saturday morning, a tourist who was in the mall had indeed found that his backpack had disappeared. He then went to the police, where the viewing of surveillance cameras had identified four individuals. On the images, we saw one of them discreetly seize the bag, before entrusting it to his companions. However, the four thieves had left the scene in the meantime.

However, they returned to Guillemins the next day. And their arrival did not escape the camera attendant, already on duty the day before. He therefore immediately notified the police, who were able to arrest the four individuals when they had once more stolen another bag, which was finally able to be returned to its owner. And although a camera belonging to their victim on Saturday was found on one of them, all deny the facts with which they are accused.

Two of them, adults, will be referred this Monday to the Liège prosecutor’s office. The other two suspects, who say they are minors, have meanwhile been sent to the hospital to undergo a bone test, the only way to determine whether they are telling the truth or not.
