The Tunisian Ministry of Interior said that a man stabbed a member of the Naval Guard in the suburb of La Goulette, north of the capital, Tunis, in the second such incident targeting the security forces within two weeks.
She added that the police quickly arrested the suspect, and that the marine guard man was taken to the hospital and his condition is stable.
The reasons for the attack are still unknown.
Last month, a policeman was killed following a man stabbed him outside the Brazilian embassy in Tunis.
