Five people were arrested on Monday in a hangar in Aartselaar, following a new large seizure of cocaine in the port area of Antwerp. This was indicated by the Antwerp prosecutor’s office. They are three Belgians, a Dutchman and a Moldavian.
On Monday, 982 kilograms of cocaine were discovered at Pier 1742 in the port, distributed in sports bags. The drug smuggling investigation led the same day to a raid on a hangar located along the Boomsesteenweg in Aartselaar. Five suspects were found there. The investigating judge has since arrested them.
