Recent Cyberattacks Disrupt Public Service Websites in Belgium

Computer problems disrupted the operation of several public service websites on Sunday. This is particularly the case of the FPS Finances, which reported, via X (formerly Twitter), a “hacker attack”.

The Palais Royal website is also experiencing problems and is not accessible.

Several websites of Belgian institutions had already been victims of a DDOS (denial of service) cyberattack on Thursday. That of the Royal Palace, the Prime Minister and the Senate were then made temporarily unavailable.

Instead of the home page there was a message in English referring to Belgian aid provided to Ukraine, including the promise made on Wednesday to send F-16s in 2025.
