The attack at Morgan State University is over, but one or more perpetrators are still at large.
– Five people have been hit by gunfire, but none of the injured are believed to be critically injured. No one has been arrested for the attack, says Baltimore Police Inspector Richard Worley in a press conference at 7.30 Norwegian time.
– Four men and one woman are injured. Four of the injured are students at the university, the police say at the press conference.

Uncertain number of perpetrators
– There are believed to be three shooters who fired into the crowd, none have been arrested or identified at this time.
It was announced by Baltimore City Council member Ryan Dorsey on X. He reportedly got his information from the police.
At the press conference, however, the police would not confirm how many perpetrators they assume took part in the attack. They would also not confirm whether there is more than one perpetrator.
They nevertheless came up with an appeal to whoever is behind the attack.
– Sign in. We are not going to give up until we have found the person or people behind it.

The shooting took place outside
Police in Baltimore received the first reports of shooting at 9:27 p.m. local time.
At 10 p.m. local time, 4 a.m. Norwegian time, the police asked those at Morgan State University to stay where they are and seek cover.
Several of the windows in a boarding school located near the University’s premises have been broken. This led the police to assume that the shots came from the boarding school.
Tactical police units (SWAT) have secured the campus and boarding school twice in search of possible perpetrators. They went door to door and talked to students inside the boarding school.
The buildings have now been cleared, although no one has been arrested.
At the press conference, the police said that the shooting took place outside, and not inside any of the buildings in the area.
Just after 7 Norwegian time, several students came out of boarding schools and other places where they had sought cover.

Third year in a row of shooting at the university
The University of Baltimore has celebrated the start of the semester this week, in a traditional celebration like many other universities in the United States.
There were events on campus when the shooting started on Tuesday evening local time.
This is the third year in a row that someone has been shot at Morgan State University during this celebration.
This makes students wonder if the security is good enough.
– We do everything we can to make it safe for the students. We have taken extra steps to make it safe, including with more surveillance cameras and increased staffing. Nevertheless, we cannot guarantee against everything, say the police at the press conference.
Tomorrow’s teaching at the university has been cancelled, it is not yet certain whether the same will apply to the remaining celebrations of the start of the semester.
There should be just under 10,000 students registered at the University. It is uncertain how many of these were on campus when the shooting took place.
