The 63rd Valais Fair in Martigny concluded on Sunday with a record attendance of 248,000 visitors, almost 6% more than last year. More than a third (35%) of the guests came from other cantons, welcome the organizers.
The event, organized over ten days, won over its audience ‘thanks to its ability to maintain its DNA while reinventing itself and focusing its investments on innovation, comfort and services’, the organizers noted on Sunday. The bright sun contributed to the success.
The press release speaks of ‘very good business for traders’, alongside the ‘thousands of contacts’ made during the event. Spread over 50,000 m2, this platform not only hosts exhibitions, events and sales areas, but also serves as a place for exchange and conviviality.
Among the 420 exhibitors, 92% declared themselves satisfied, and 95% assured they wanted to return for the 64th edition, which will open on September 27, 2024. More than 80 concerts and shows were presented, as well as various aspects around the water theme.
By mid-afternoon on Sunday, the organizers had counted a total of 243,000 visitors, a figure they expected to see rise to 248,000 with the closing evening, significantly more than the 234,500 in 2022 .
The arrival of Federal Councilor Albert Rösti ‘underlined the importance of the third largest fair in Switzerland’, which brings together all generations, concludes the organizers’ press release.
