According to Giorgos Tsatrafillias , Athens will be the pan-European heat “champion” on Sunday.
“It is possible that Athens will be European champion in temperature on Sunday 29/9 and even with a difference”!

“Balkan front” drops the temperature up to 7 degrees
The weather is expected to change significantly in the coming days, as a “Balkan front” that will pass through the country is expected to drop the temperature by around 7 degrees, while the winds will be particularly strong.
The director of EMY, Thodoris Kolidas, in a post he made on Facebook noted, among other things, that “the drop in temperature from 32 to 33°C on Saturday to 24 to 26°C on Monday will be felt throughout the country… The enhanced North-westerly winds in the Ionian and Aegean with an intensity of 7 to 8 Beaufort between Sunday and Monday will be characteristic of the weather”.
