Chandigarh: Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said that the loss of private properties during the communal conflict in Haryana will be recovered from the rioters themselves. He clarified that the state government will bring out the conspiracy behind the riots and those responsible for the riots will not be spared. He also said that a scheme will be devised to provide assistance to the victims of the conflict.
The Chief Minister pointed out that cow protection is a big problem in Nuh district where communal conflict has broken out. In a press conference held on Wednesday, he appealed for the protection of cows. Khattar said that he would encourage Muslim youth to come forward for cow protection as it would ensure social harmony.
He clarified that it is not possible for the police to protect everyone in the state during the conflict and therefore it is necessary to protect peace and harmony in the society. They have no information about Monu Manesar, who is said to have led to Monday’s violence. Khattar said that he is ready to provide all assistance to the Rajasthan government to find him
The Chief Minister said that the death toll in the clashes that broke out on Monday has already reached six. He added that 119 people have been arrested and another 90 have been taken into custody. He clarified that the people have been asked to record their losses in the conflict and the government will evaluate the same through a portal.
Compensation will be given to the families of Home Guards killed during the conflict. 20 companies of central forces have been deployed in Haryana to prevent the spread of conflict. 14 of these are in Nuh district. Three are deployed in Palwal, two in Gurugram and one company in Faridabad. The Chief Minister of Haryana also said that they have requested to provide four companies of paramilitary units.
