RIYADH: The General Directorate of Passports (Jawasat) said that it is the responsibility of recruitment offices to receive domestic workers when they first arrive to work in Saudi Arabia on new visas. Meanwhile, the Passport Department (Jawazat) has clarified that the employer is responsible for accepting domestic workers who have returned from Saudi Arabia on exit and re-entry visas.
Jawasat said to contact the Ministry of Human Resource and Social Development (MHRSD) for further inquiries in this regard. The Ministry of Interior has launched an electronic authorization service, a new feature that will allow beneficiaries who wish to authorize related parties to accept women domestic workers coming to work in Saudi Arabia. Abshir Platform revealed that the e-authorization service is available at four airports: King Khalid in Riyadh, King Fahd in Dammam, King Abdulaziz in Jeddah and Prince Mohammed in Madinah. The electronic authorization service period is valid only for 30 days from the date of issue. The ministry added that the e-authorization service can be canceled at any time during the approval period. The said service shall be as per the terms and conditions of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
