Red Bull F1 Representative “It is logical to talk with Porsche / Audi”[F1-Gate .com]

Christian Horner, Red Bull Racing’s F1 team representative, emphasized that talking with Porsche and Audi was “logical” but “still in the very early stages.”

There has been much debate over Porsche and Audi’s entry into F1 in 2026, but one of the main debates is which team will supply the F1 power unit.

Porsche and Audi appear to follow different routes in entering F1 after Volkswagen Group CEO Herbert Diess confirms that the two car brands’ plans to enter F1 have been approved.

Audi is rumored to be buying an existing F1 team, and Renters reports that it had its first talks in March about the acquisition of the McLaren F1 team. Meanwhile, Porsche is said to partner with the existing team as an engine supplier.

Porsche’s most obvious potential partner is Red Bull Powertrains, but Red Bull Racing’s F1 team representative Christian Horner commented that talking to both Porsche and Audi is “logical.”

“It’s clearly great to say that Volkswagen intends to join F1 as the parent company of both Porsche and Audi,” Christian Horner told GPFans.com.

“We will start a new journey as a power unit maker in 2026. Of course, it is logical to discuss potential cooperation.”

“But it’s still in the very early stages and there’s nothing to report.”

Red Bull seems to be working on a plan to build an F1 power unit, and earlier this year Christian Horner plans to move to a new facility in May and run the first Red Bull engine in the dynamo by the end of the year. He says he is.

Red Bull is currently in transition and has agreed to continue to support Honda, despite announcing that it will withdraw from F1 at the end of the 2021 season.

In March of this year, Christian Horner said Red Bull is working on creating a “world-class” facility.

“I must say it was a big challenge,” explained Christian Horner.

“All contractors and suppliers have done a great job. It’s not just the building. The state-of-the-art dynomos, machines, measuring tools and all the equipment that’s up to date online in the building are the best. It’s a new style power unit facility. “

“We have achieved incredible results in a short period of time, but all have achieved our goals.”

“We have a really talented technical and operations team. We welcome members from Honda’s HRD UK. It’s an exciting time.”

“I think this is a really exciting phase for Red Bull’s journey in F1, and we can see our efforts to become a world-class facility.”

“It will be exciting to see our first engine running, and it won’t be long before the first Red Bull design unit goes live.”
