Red Cross convoy had to abort evacuation from Mariupol

The International Red Cross convoy, which was supposed to evacuate residents of Mariupol, had to turn back before the city. The situation makes it impossible to continue with the relief effort, it said in a statement.

Ceasefires repeatedly violated

In the past few days, planned ceasefires for the evacuation of civilians via certain roads have repeatedly not been complied with. The humanitarian situation in the city is getting worse day by day, water, food and heated rooms are hardly available.
So far, the shelling of Mariupol has caused at least $10 billion in damage to the port city’s infrastructure, according to city officials.

“Every crime, every murder and every act of destruction committed by the aggressor must be documented and forwarded to the International Court of Justice,” demanded Mayor Vadym Boichenko, according to the city administration.
