Reduced to ten, Antwerp emerge in stoppage time against Seraing

The only goal of the match was scored in stoppage time by Gillaume Dietsch against his side. With this result, the Antwerpers, second, count 53 units and temporarily return to seven lengths of Union Saint-Gilloise. Seraing remains penultimate with 23 points and could see 16th-placed Zulte Waregem take a five-point lead. The first half was largely dominated by the Antwerpers who created three possibilities in less than ten minutes of play through Michel-Ange Balikwisha (2nd) and Koji Miyoshi (5th and 9th). Unfortunately for number 1, the leather was almost missed each time or was well taken out by Gillaume Dietsch.

Just before half an hour, Mbwana Samatta, alone in the small rectangle, narrowly missed opening the scoring for Antwerp. Without a bad rebound of the ball at the time of conclusion, the Tanzanian propelled it into the back of the net.

Very little present offensively, the Steelworkers operated against thanks to Georges Mikautadze, but without much success in this first period.

Opposite, Dietsch was still called upon by a new sending from Moyoshi which forced the goalkeeper to a nice relaxation (35th).

There were fewer chances at the start of the second half and the first highlight of the second half came after the hour mark. Mbwana Samatta tackled Antoine Bernier hard and was shown the red card by the referee (63rd). The latter decided to view the images and ultimately remained on his decision to exclude the striker from the Great Old.

The Steelworkers were more insistent, but without succeeding in really worrying Jean Butez.

In the 83rd minute, Mr. Denil headed back to the screens to judge a possible foul on Mouandilmadji Marius in the Antwerp rectangle. Convinced that the action was legal, the referee did not indicate the penalty spot.

In stoppage time, on a distant free kick for Antwerp, Dinis Almeida, lonely in the large rectangle, controlled before trying his luck with his left foot. The ball was deflected for the first time before taking the direction of Gillaume Dietsch, surprised, who in turn deflected it into his own net (90+2, 0-1).
