ABU DHABI – Abu Dhabi Distribution Company is launching a 2 crore dirham project to reduce electricity consumption in mosques by 20 percent and water consumption by 32 percent. The project is in collaboration with the General Authority of Islamic Affairs and Endowment.
In this way, 4,600 tonnes of carbon pollution can be prevented. This is equivalent to the pollution emitted by 900 vehicles in a year. An innovative system will be installed in existing mosques and new ones. In the first phase, the system will be installed in 850 large mosques.
