An elementary school special teacher who was dismissed from his position after being accused of child abuse by webtoon writer Joo Ho-min will be reinstated today.
The Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education made a decision to reinstate as controversy continued over whether Mr. Joo’s accusation was appropriate and pointed out that the teacher was suffering excessive damage.

An elementary school special education teacher who was accused of child abuse by Joo Ho-min, the author of the webtoon ‘Along with the Gods’, will be reinstated today.
Gyeonggi Education Superintendent Lim Tae-hee explained the background of the reinstatement decision, saying, “This incident is not an individual teacher problem, but can shake the entire Gyeonggi-do special education system.”
“The Office of Education will respond at the institutional level so that teachers no longer respond alone,” he emphasized.
At the same time, he added that he would not indiscriminately dismiss teachers until the truth is clear.
As a result, the special education teacher will go to trial for the ongoing child abuse charges while reinstated.
It was reported that about 80 petitions from parents and teachers who wished for the special education teacher to be lenient were submitted to the judge in charge.
In addition, controversy arose on the Internet that Mr. Joo used a tape recorder to forcefully report the special teacher for child abuse.
In this regard, Mr. Joo explained that there was a very inappropriate teacher’s words and actions in the recording, which was difficult to see as simple discipline, and that he thought this was clearly problematic.
In addition, in the case of emotional child abuse, the education office itself judged and explained the background of the police report, saying that it is difficult to replace the teacher.
