Vienna/The Hague/Brussels – Vice Chancellor Werner Kogler (Greens) gave a renewed and clear rejection of the possible EU-Mercosur trade pact on Wednesday. He referred to the government program. ÖVP Economics Minister Martin Kocher, on the other hand, pointed to consultations between the EU Commission and Mercosur states. Only when any negotiations have been completed “can the final agreement be evaluated by Austria,” said Kocher to the APA. However, Austria rejected the previous pact in parliament in 2019.
