Rekha Menon, who has been in the television industry for many years, says that she was called to act in many films. But she said that she did not go even following getting Mammootty’s signature because she was afraid to step out of her comfort zone.
In an interview with Milestone Makers, Rekha spoke regarding the films she denied.
‘I was called for the role Khushbu did in Ranjith’s Kaiop. Mammooka was different and I was different. Mine is another added role. I was afraid to step out of my comfort zone.
I miss the signature. Ranjit I am sorry. I also got a bad one from Ranjith that day.
It wasn’t pride, it was fear. My father and mother are okay with TV, but they are afraid that it will not be okay if they do movies. Now let my son direct. Let’s see then. But he won’t give me the role,’ she said.
Rekha added that she was called to play the role of Tovino’s mother in Goda, directed by Basil Joseph, but she replied that she would come if Tovino was cast as the heroine.
