Release channels will now appear on Chromebook shelves | HelenTech

ChromeOS

This feature is rarely targeted at Beta, Dev, and Canary, not Stable, and will soon be available. The device’s ChromeOS release channel is displayed on the shelf (system tray)Will be done.

Although it is a function for users who update to a channel other than Stable on the Chromebook, there is nothing in particular, but it is troublesome to check the channel of the device you are currently using from “About ChromeOS”. You can omit it. It’s sober.

However, we do not know how it will be displayed at this time.

Another thing is that the ChromeOS release channel will be displayed on the login screen in addition to the shelf. This also makes it easier to figure out which channel the device is on, but it’s also modest. The display on the login screen may also be displayed on Stable.

It’s basically for users who are testing ChromeOS on different versions, so it may not be relevant to most people.

As an aside, ChromeOS Canary has now reached version 106. I’m looking forward to what kind of development will be achieved in the future.
