Blue Ivy Carter isn’t such a little girl anymore. Sunday, January 8, on the occasion of Blue Ivy Carter’s eleventh birthday, Tina Knowles, Beyoncé’s mother, shared a rare snapshot with her granddaughter.
In the photo, the eldest daughter of Beyoncé and Jay-Z, who has since grown up, poses alongside her grandmother, Tina Knowles. Smile on their lips and sunglasses on their noses for Blue Ivy, the two enjoy the sunset, their feet in the sand. “The day you were born was one of the happiest days of my life,” the 69-year-old designer first wrote, calling her granddaughter a “very special queen.”
An accomplice duo
Proud of her granddaughter, Tina Knowles did not fail to shower her with praise. “You can dance, play basketball, volleyball, paint, draw, sculpt, write poems, songs, create, play the piano… And so on. There’s nothing you can’t do (…) I couldn’t ask for a better granddaughter, Blue Ivy Carter. I couldn’t be more blessed, grateful and in love with another human. You really bring me a lot of joy.”
In addition to Beyoncé, Tina Knowles is also Solange’s motherwho welcomed her first child, Daniel, in 2004. For her part, in 2017, “Queen B” gave birth to twins, Sir and Rumi. A few years later, during the 2021 Grammys ceremony, the 41-year-old singer shared how “honoured” she was to be the mother of Blue, Sir and Rumi. “You are my babies and I am so proud of you.”
