Akira Toriyama, the creator of Dragon Ball, Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super, Sand Land and more, has died at the age of 68. Toriyama was a Japanese manga artist and character designer. He first achieved widespread recognition after creating the manga series Dr. Slump, before creating Dragon Ball, his most famous work.
His creation, Dragon Ball, became one of the most popular and successful manga in the world, selling more than 250 million copies worldwide, one of the best-selling manga series of all time. 42 volumes of Dragon Ball were released between 1984 and 1995.
