The actor Alfio De Benedictis, known from the RTLzwei reality daily soap “Berlin – Day & Night”, is dead. This was announced by both the broadcaster and the production company Filmpool Entertainment on the corresponding Instagram pages. “It was with great horror that we learned of the death of our long-time companion Alfio De Benedictis,” it says in the joint post. The exact age of the deceased actor is still unclear.
Above all, he will be remembered by everyone for his good mood and warm manner. The thoughts are now with the relatives. De Benedictis, whose real name was actually Fernando Dela Vega, played the Italian macho and car mechanic Fabrizio in the series for many years. He first joined the main cast in 2011, but left the series again in 2017. There was another comeback in 2020. The broadcaster and the production company have not yet said anything about the exact circumstances of his death.
His colleague Pia Tillmann (35) indicated in her Instagram post about De Benedicti’s death that the actor had been suffering from a heart condition for a long time. The actress, with whom he was in front of the camera, posted a picture together on Instagram and wrote: “I am shocked and sad, but it was still a matter of time that this information came. Even if your heart was big, things didn’t always work smoothly in our early days at ‘BTN’.” Tillmann thanked everyone for “unforgettable moments and years,” for “incredibly much fun, good times and shared tears.”
Tillmann concluded her emotional post with the words: “I hope you are doing well, wherever you are now. Rest in peace.” Among other things, she used the hashtags #take care, #goodbye and #farewell.
