On this day in 2019, the great artist Farouk Al-Fishawy passed away, at the age of 67, after a struggle with cancer.

Al-Fishawi left a great legacy for Egyptian art, with his participation in about 148 films, 71 series and 14 plays.

“Al-Fishawi” resisted cancer with all his might since it was announced on the platform of the Alexandria Film Festival, and he always appeared with satisfaction and challenge to this disease.

During the last interview conducted by “Al-Fishawy” on the Lebanese Al-Jadeed channel, during which he revealed the reason for not receiving chemotherapy, stressing that he underwent modern treatment and said: “It is a completely new treatment that appeared in 2017 and remains present in the whole world, and it was invented by two doctors, one Japanese and one American, and the two won the Nobel Prize 2018 .. He is not tired at all.”

And he revealed his strong dissatisfaction with the programs and broadcasters, who show cancer patients in extreme illness and weakness, and said: “I am against that they show children with cancer in this despicable way.

And he continued: “It is possible for them to answer the healthy children who were treated, not because I sympathize with you or the patient.

He added, “This is among the things that made me announce that I am sick with cancer because I want these things to disappear completely because they trade in people’s pain and illness in order to collect some money.”

The great artist, Farouk Al-Fishawy, died on July 25, 2019, after entering a hepatic coma.
