Caracas.- The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro Moros, made a publication on the official account of the social network X, in which he lamented the physical departure of the president of the Communist Party of Chile, Guillermo Teillier, whom he described as a brave and consistent man in the fight against fascism, injustice and hatred.
Guillermo Teillier passed away at the age of 79, after spending several weeks hospitalized for health complications. It should be noted that he became a historical figure, after facing the dictatorship of Augusto Pinochet, who was a Chilean politician and dictator, during the period between 1973 and 1990.
In this regard, the President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, indicated that “as a tribute to his dedication to Chile throughout his life, and to his tireless effort to build a more just society, as President of the Republic I have decided to mourn in his honor national”.
On Wednesday and Thursday, the Chilean flag will be hoisted at half mast at the headquarters of the Legislative and Judicial branches, offices and public departments, units of the Armed Forces, the Chilean Police and the Investigative Police. In addition, the acts will be suspended of government that have a celebration character.
