The Iranian women’s movement is being honored with Amini, said EU Parliament President Roberta Metsola on Thursday in Strasbourg. “Women. Life. Freedom,” Metsola repeated on the online service X, formerly Twitter, the slogan of the mass protests in Iran that broke out after Amini’s death. The 22-year-old Amini died on September 16, 2022 after being arrested by the Iranian moral police because of a headscarf that was allegedly worn too loosely.
