Remembering Retired Brigadier General Jurji Tanios Shahwan: A Tribute to his Illustrious Military Career

The Army Command – Directorate of Orientation mourned retired pilot Brigadier General Jurji Tanios Shahwan, who died on 9/16/2023, and the following is an overview of his life:

Born on January 25, 1946 in Baabda.

He volunteered in the army on 10/18/1965, and was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on 12/1/1968, then he rose through the promotion to the rank of brigadier general as of 7/1/1994. He received several medals and was commended by the Army Commander and congratulated several times.

He followed several courses at home and abroad. He is married and has two children.

The body will be transferred on September 18, 2023 at 10:00 from the Central Military Hospital to St. George Maronite Cathedral – downtown Beirut, where the funeral will be held on the same date at 14:30 and it will be buried in the Adma family cemetery – Kafr Yasin.

Condolences will be accepted before the burial, starting at 11:00 and on September 19 and 20, 2023, starting at 11:00 and ending at 18:00, in the salon of the aforementioned cathedral, or by calling his wife, Mrs. Lodi, on the phone number: 911921/03.
