The die is cast. The boards of directors of Renault, Nissan and Mitsubishi each endorsed, on Sunday and Monday, the project to rebalance the governance of their alliance, with the hope of restoring momentum to their relationship at a standstill by breaking with the great precepts of the Carlos Ghosn era, and giving everyone a little more freedom.
The three companies confirmed in a joint press release published this Monday morning “a series of initiatives to take the next step”. Their leaders, meeting in London to conclude several months of complicated negotiations, detailed in the morning before the press and financial analysts the outline of this framework agreement which places Renault and Nissan, which controls Mitsubishi, on an equal footing.
