Thiruvananthapuram: Prominent writer Sarah Thomas (88) passed away. He passed away on Friday morning at his daughter’s residence in Nandavan, Thiruvananthapuram. Burial Saturday at Patur Church Cemetery.

Sarah Thomas, who has written 17 novels and over 100 short stories, has won many awards including the Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award. The Kerala Sahitya Akademi award was given for the work Narmatipupadava.

A novel called Murippadul was made into a movie by PA Bakker under the name Manimuzhakkam. The film also won the National Film Award. Apart from this, the novels Asthamayam, Pavizhamut and Archana have also been themes for movies.

‘River of Life’ is the first novel written by Sarah Thomas. The writer who gave away works that will be remembered forever by the people of Wayanad, such as God’s Sons and Servants.
