“Dear customers, we are pleased to inform you that our specialized and independent pet store, Entre Chiens et Chats, is reopening its doors after a temporary two-week closure. » It is with these words that the store established in Malmedy after having started its activities in Ensival announced the good news, this Friday at the end of the afternoon.
The store had gone bankrupt and had been closed since October 17. According to the curator, the pet store never recovered from the floods. She had moved to Malmedy to relaunch herself, but for that the bosses had to borrow to buy equipment. But because of the new animal keeping permit and the work at the entrance to Malmedy, the turnover turned out to be lower than expected. Hence the bankruptcy.

“We are frustrated by the lack of support from regional authorities despite the considerable damage following these floods for which we are categorically exempt from any responsibility. However, thanks to your loyalty and our solid reputation, private investors see a promising future for our Entre Chiens & Chats brand. We are delighted to continue this adventure with you and we look forward to welcoming you and your pets,” explain Angélique and Jérôme on social media.
A nice way out of this difficulty, ultimately not surprising when we remember what the curator said about the bosses. “They are valuable people. They really did everything they could, but the context was not favourable,” regretted Pierre Henry, who also spoke of a beautiful, perfectly appointed store in a well-located location.
