After completing the maintenance work inside the space; that included the arrangement of ceilings, roof, walls, floors, doors and lighting, among other spaces; Metrosalud reopened the doors of the Estadio health center, located to the west of Medellín.

The reopening of the medical center will benefit more than 5,600 people in the Laureles-Estadio commune after nearly $415 million were invested there as a result of future terms approved by the Medellín Council.

While the work in this health center was carried out, the alternate locations of San Javier and the Santa Rosa de Lima health center provided services to the community so as not to leave it unattended.

“This center has comfortable and renovated facilities to provide care to everyone. We invite the entire population and users to take care of the facilities and appropriate them”, indicated the manager of Metrosalud, Valentina Sosa Carvajal.

Apart from the center of the Stadium, 43 health centers, ten hospital units and two Metrosalud administrative headquarters will also be intervened. All of them under the hospital network improvement plan executed with future validity. For the works of the 55 Metrosalud headquarters, the plan contemplates an investment of close to $75,000 million.

The Urban Development Company (EDU), the entity in charge of the execution, reported that there are currently works in 13 health centers and five hospital units, in addition to the administrative headquarters of Guayabal. In summary, the works are taking place in communes 5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 13 and 15 and in the corregimientos San Cristóbal, Palmitas and Santa Elena.

“With Metrosalud, the Ministry of Health and the contractors, we are adopting contingency plans so that as we finish, other fronts are opened in other locations, in order not to collapse the health services,” said the assistant manager of Project Execution , Margarita Contreras.
